Birthday Carte Du Jour Amongst Cupcake

When I was making this menu I was thinking of the colours of the pastry shops, peculiarly the Ladurée. I'm non a huge fan of the pastires of the Ladurée - actually, I'm non a huge fan of things made amongst saccharide - but I dear the style, the decorations, the advertisements in addition to the wrappings of Ladurée. 

So I created this:

The starting fourth dimension layer of this menu was a pastel light-green cardstock which was embossed using the Polkadot layering stencil past times Tim Holtz (THS068) in addition to the Ranger white embossing powder. The edges of the light-green rectangle was inked amongst a chocolate-brown distress ink (Gathered Twigs).

The frame was cutting out from chipboard in addition to I painted gold.

The roses were inwards my stash, I made them earlier.

The cake was stamped on a watercolour newspaper in addition to was coloured amongst Ranger Distress markers.

As for the background inwards the frame ... for this, I used the Reflections postage stamp in addition to the Ranger Archival Potting Soil ink pad. After stamping I toned dorsum amongst white acrylic paint, thence spritzed amongst Ranger Distress Spray Stain (Vintage Photo) using a brush. In the end, I inked the border amongst Vintage Photo ink.
